Picky Eaters Asparagus

- 1/2 lb asparagus, raw shopping list
- 1/4 tbsp Smart Balance shopping list
- 1/2 tbsp brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup chicken broth shopping list
- 1/4 tsp sesame oil shopping list
How to make it
- Rinse asparagus and discard tough ends. Snap into pieces or leave whole.
- In a skillet over medium-high, heat butter and brown sugar until sugar is dissolved.
- Add asparagus; saute for 2 minutes.
- Stir in chicken broth and sesame oil; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender (I like very crisp veggies...if you prefer mushier, softer asparagus just let it go 5 or so minutes longer).
- Remove asparagus to a serving dish and keep warm.
- Cook sauce, uncovered, until reduced by half.
- Pour over asparagus and serve immediately.
