Jewish Apple Cake

- 3 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 4 large eggs shopping list
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- juice of an orange shopping list
- 5 large granny smith apples shopping list
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon shopping list
- 5 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup nuts, your choice shopping list
How to make it
- Butter and flour a tube (turk's head) pan.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Combine in a bowl the flour, sugar, oil, eggs, baking powder and orange juice.
- Peel, core and slice the apples as for pie.
- Sprinkle apple slices with cinnamon, sugar and nuts.
- Set aside.
- Pour 1/2 the batter into the prepared pan.
- Layer with apple mixture.
- Pour in rest of batter.
- Finish up with the apple mixture on top.
- Bake for 1 3/4 hours.
