Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
The ginger adds a nice crisp taste to a classic cookie, and I use "Organics" brand chocolate chips, which are not as sweet as some other brands, and they work really well in this recipe.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 lb (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1sp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp powdered ginger
  • 2 1/2 cups quick rolled oats
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions
  1. Preheat Oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl beat butter and sugar.
  3. Mix in eggs and vanilla.
  4. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and spices. Mix until combined.
  5. Add oats, and chocolate chips.
  6. Drop batter by rounded tablespoon about 1 1/2 inches apart on greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-13 minutes or until edges are golden brown and centers are pale and soft.
  8. They may look a little underdone, but will firm up as they cool.
