How to make it

  • In a high sided container, pour in cereal and crush with the bottom of glass until lightly crumbled. It should be a good mix of crumbs and chunks of cereal.
  • In another bowl mix milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla.
  • Dip a slice of bread into milk mixture until well soaked but not soggy.
  • Then dip bread into crumb mixture and make sure well coated on both sides.
  • Place on bread into heated frying pan with about 2 tbs melted butter.
  • Keep on medium heated until toasted brown and cereal has begun to caramelize. Flip and brown the other side.
  • Repeat this step with all the bread, adding more butter to the frying pan as needed.
  • Blue Moon serves their french toast with whipped cream and seasonal fruit on top. I find that a great idea because the cereal already makes the bread very sweet and syrup isn't needed.
