How to make it

  • Melt the butter in a cast iron skillet.
  • Add sugar.
  • Stir to dissolve sugar.
  • Add banana quarters.
  • Saute bananas until caramelized.
  • Pour rum over bananas in pan.
  • Tip the pan away from you and just close in on the rum.
  • The rum will catch the flame easily.
  • Flambe until flame dies.
  • PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
  • Serve bananas over a slice of pound cake.
  • Top with French vanilla ice cream.
