From Paula Deen.. so easy, so dramatic, so elegant! We serve this over French vanilla ice cream AND a poundcake slice. Please be careful with the flambe, friends.

Ingredients
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 bananas, cut into quarters
  • 1/4 cup dark rum

Directions
  1. Melt the butter in a cast iron skillet.
  2. Add sugar.
  3. Stir to dissolve sugar.
  4. Add banana quarters.
  5. Saute bananas until caramelized.
  6. Pour rum over bananas in pan.
  7. Tip the pan away from you and just close in on the rum.
  8. The rum will catch the flame easily.
  9. Flambe until flame dies.
  10. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
  11. Serve bananas over a slice of pound cake.
  12. Top with French vanilla ice cream.
