How to make it

  • Drain beets and reserve liquid then add enough water to make 3-1/2 cups.
  • Combine gelatin, liquid, onion, salt, allspice and horseradish in saucepan.
  • Stir over medium heat until gelatin dissolves.
  • Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice then chill until mixture starts to thicken.
  • Dice beets then add to mixture.
  • Put in mold that has been sprayed with cooking spray and chill thoroughly.
  • Combine horseradish, sour cream and mayonnaise and use as dressing.
