Double Chocolate Drops

- For the cookies shopping list
- 1 cup plus 2 1/2 T flour shopping list
- 1/4 c dutch-processed cocoa shopping list
- 3/4 c butter, room temperature shopping list
- 1/2 c confectioner's sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- For the filling shopping list
- 3/4 c (4 oz) chopped semisweet chocolate shopping list
- 3 T butter shopping list
How to make it
- Sift flour and cocoa together
- Cream the butter and sugar together for 2 minutes
- Add vanilla and salt, beat until smooth
- Add flour mixture, mix on low speed until soft dough forms
- Chill dough for about 40 minutes
- Heat oven to 350. Line baking sheets with parchment
- Roll dough into inch balls, place on baking sheet, press centers with thumb to make indention.
- Bake one sheet at a time for 8 to 9 minutes
- Melt chocolate and butter over a double boiler until smooth and shiny
- Cool slightly and spoon or pipe into center of each cookie.
- Note: after melting chocolate, any extract flavoring (1/4 tsp) could be added
