How to make it

  • Heat the oil a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 cup onion; sauté 3 minutes or until tender.
  • Combine sautéed onion, meat, fresh thyme, salt, pepper, and egg in a bowl, and stir well. Divide the meat mixture into equal portions, shaping each into a 3-1/2-inch patty.
  • Coat skillet with cooking spray, and place over medium-high heat until hot.
  • Add patties; cook 3 minutes.
  • Turn the patties over; reduce heat to medium-low, and cook 1 minute.
  • Add the vermouth; cover and cook an additional 2 minutes.
  • Serve patties on hamburger buns with lettuce, tomato, and onion.
