Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Finely chopped onion
  • 1 pound Lean ground buffalo (or ground round)
  • 1 teaspoon Minced fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 Egg; lightly beaten
  • Vegetable cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup Dry vermouth
  • 4 Hamburger buns; split
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 Tomato slices
  • 4 Onion slices

Directions
  1. Heat the oil a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 cup onion; sauté 3 minutes or until tender.
  2. Combine sautéed onion, meat, fresh thyme, salt, pepper, and egg in a bowl, and stir well. Divide the meat mixture into equal portions, shaping each into a 3-1/2-inch patty.
  3. Coat skillet with cooking spray, and place over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Add patties; cook 3 minutes.
  5. Turn the patties over; reduce heat to medium-low, and cook 1 minute.
  6. Add the vermouth; cover and cook an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Serve patties on hamburger buns with lettuce, tomato, and onion.
