Cherry Winks Recipe
This is an old recipe I got from my Mom. She always made them when I was a kid. I think they might have origialy been a Betty Crocker recipe. Any way they are still one of my all time favorites.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cp soft butter
  • 1 cp sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbs undiluted orange juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cps flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cp chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cp chopped maraschino cherries
  • 3 cps crushed corn flakes
  • 30 maraschino cherries cut in half

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. In large bowl combine sugar, butter and salt
  3. Beat until fluffy
  4. add eggs orange juice and vanilla
  5. beat well to combine
  6. add dry ingredients
  7. mix well
  8. refrigerate about 1 hr ur till dough is stiff
  9. Shape dough into balls
  10. roll each ball in cornflakes
  11. top each cookie with 1/2 maraschino cherry
  12. bake at 375 9 to 12 minutes or un till golden brown
  13. let cool on cookie sheet about 4 minutes
  14. remove and let cool on wire racks
  15. place in container with tight lid.
  16. Stay nice and fresh for several weeks if you keep them refrigerated and don't let any one know you have them
  17. enjoy
