Bistek Enpanisado- Cuban Style Recipe
This is a traditional Cuban recipe for Breaded Cuban Style Steaks. We usually serve it with rice and black beans, and some fried ripe planatos.

Ingredients
  • 2lbs thinly sliced Beef Round steak. You want them really thin less than a 1/4 inch. If you cant find that thin you can place plastic wrap and pound them till really thin.
  • 4 limes
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Cracker meal for coating steaks. 1 large bag. In Spanish it's called "Galleta Molida". You can find in Hispanic grocers or try the Hispanic Foods eisle.
  • Oil for frying

Directions
  1. In large glass bowl or marinating dish, add the juice of the limes, the 2 eggs-beaten, milk, salt, and cumin powder.
  2. Slice the large onion to make rings like for onion rings.
  3. Add the onions to the mixture. Mix well and marinate overnight.
  4. In large plate or serving dish, add cracker crumbs.
  5. Drege each steak in cracker crumbs to coat well.
  6. Heat oil in large frying pan till hot.
  7. Add a couple steaks at a time. Fry till golden brown on each side.
  8. Dont throw the onions away. Dredge them in the cracker meal and fry them up too.
  9. Usually the fried onions are placed on top the steaks for serving. Traditionally, its served with black beans and rice, and some fried ripe plantains on the side.
