Beef Casserole

- 750g stewing beef shopping list
- 250ml stock (beef or veg is best) shopping list
- 2 carrots (sliced) shopping list
- 1 onion shopping list
- 1 clove garlic shopping list
- 50g mushrooms (quartered) shopping list
- half bottle of red wine shopping list
- 2 tablespoons flour shopping list
- herbs - whatever you've got shopping list
How to make it
- Soften the onion in a thick bottomed casserole dish/pan with the garlic
- Add the beef and brown over a medium-high heat
- Add the flour and cook off for 2 minutes
- Gradually add half the stock and mix with the flour
- Add the mushrooms and carrots and wine
- Add some herbs - thyme, oregano work well
- Bring to the boil and add the rest of the stock if it looks a little dry
- Place in a preheated oven at 175 degrees for 3 hours or until the beef is falling apart.
- Check regullarly to avoid drying out
- Seson to taste
