Ingredients
  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 3-4 slices bread
  • 1 cup grated cheese (for me, low-fat)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • a sprinkle pepper

Directions
  1. Butter a 9 inch round or square casserole dish.
  2. Spread half the cheese over the bottom of the dish.
  3. Cover cheese with bread slices so they just fit.
  4. Sprinkle rest of cheese over bread.
  5. Beat eggs. Add milk, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix and pour over bread.
  6. Cover and refrigerate all night.
  7. In the morning take off cover and bake at 45 minutes at 325 degrees.
  8. Serve right away.
