Fisher Fair Scones

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (original recipe calls for Fisher Blend flour) shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 2 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 6 tablespoons shortening shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup raisins (if you omit the raisins, add 2 tablespoons additional milk) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Sift and measure the flour.
- Resift flour with other dry ingredients
- Work shortening into dry ingredients with fingers.
- Add raisins, if using, to flour-fat mixture.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Add milk to mixture.
- Turn out onto a floured board.
- Divide dough into two pieces.
- Place dough pieces onto an UNgreased baking sheet.
- Roll or pat each into a round and to a 3/4 to 1" thickness.
- Cut into wedges like a pie.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Split , butter/jam them and enjoy!
