Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (original recipe calls for Fisher Blend flour)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup raisins (if you omit the raisins, add 2 tablespoons additional milk)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Sift and measure the flour.
  3. Resift flour with other dry ingredients
  4. Work shortening into dry ingredients with fingers.
  5. Add raisins, if using, to flour-fat mixture.
  6. Mix thoroughly.
  7. Add milk to mixture.
  8. Turn out onto a floured board.
  9. Divide dough into two pieces.
  10. Place dough pieces onto an UNgreased baking sheet.
  11. Roll or pat each into a round and to a 3/4 to 1" thickness.
  12. Cut into wedges like a pie.
  13. Bake for 15 minutes.
  14. Remove from oven.
  15. Split , butter/jam them and enjoy!
