How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix thoroughly butter, sugar, vanilla and a few drops food color.
  • Work in flour and salt until dough holds together.
  • (If dough is dry nix in 1to 2 T, light cream or milk)
  • Mold dough by tablespoonfuls around the nuts,chips etc.
  • Place cookies about 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake 12 to 15 minutes or untio set but not brown.
  • Cool: dip tops of cookies into icing.
  • Icing;Mix the confectioners sugar the cream or milk and the vanilla until smooth. Add food color if desired.
