Italian red sauce

I got this recipe from an older Italian women in a hair salon...we were under the dryers....this is a great base sauce to use in any pasta dish and pizza...I double the batch and freeze half. ice cube
Ingredients
- 10 cloves fresh garlic, minced shopping list
- 3 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 2-6oz. cans of HUNTS tomatoe PASTE shopping list
- 2-28oz cans of HUNTS tomatoe SAUCE shopping list
- 1/2-1cup sugar shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 12oz water shopping list
How to make it
- heat olive oil in large soup pot
- remove from heat and add garlic......NOT TO BROWN!!
- move around in oil 1-2mins.
- add tomatoe PASTE and water...stir to blend
- place pot over medium-low heat and stir till bubbly.3-5mins.
- add tomatoe SAUCE and sugar,salt and pepper.
- simmer for1- 3 hours,stirring often.
