Ingredients
  • 1 pound mussels in shell
  • 2 white onions diced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup white wine
  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • Olive oil
  • Butter or margarine

Directions
  1. Clean and beard mussels under water.
  2. In large covered saucepan sauté onions in a mix of half butter or margarine and half oil.
  3. Add black pepper and wine.
  4. Bring to a boil then add mussels and cook covered until shells open.
  5. Serve in soup bowls sprinkled with fresh parsley on top.
