Grapefruit Alaska

- 2 grapefruit shopping list
- 1/4 cup of kirsch shopping list
- 1/8 cup of dark brown sugar shopping list
- 3 egg whites shopping list
- 9 tablespoons of sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 pint of vanilla ice cream shopping list
- 1/2 pint of orange sherbert shopping list
How to make it
- Wash, dry grapefruit, halve.
- Remove sections.
- Cut away all membrane from shells.
- Place fruit in bowl.
- Sprinkle with kirsch and brown sugar.
- Chill the rinds and the fruit.
- Beat whites until frothy; add sugar gradually and beat until stiff.
- Drain grapefruit.
- Put 1/4 cup of sherbert in bottom of grapefruit shell.
- Top with 1/4 cup of fruit sections.
- Top with 1/4 cup of vanilla icecream
- Spread meringue over top of filling to the edges to seal.
- Place on cookie sheet.
- Broil until lightly brown.
- Serve at once.
