Ryans Basic Hummus

- 2 cans chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drain but retain juice shopping list
- 1/3 cup olive oil shopping list
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt shopping list
- 2 tablespoons tahini (sesame paste, not sesame oil) shopping list
- 1/4 cup lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- Put all of the above ingredients except the juice from the chickpeas into a blender. Begin blending.
- You'll need to blend, then use a spoon to mix, then blend again. The hummus will be too thick to blend without help.
- You can slowly add some of the juice from the chickpeas to the mixture to thin it out, but you don't want the hummus to be runny.
- You can also adjust the other seasonings to taste. (I usually end up adding a bit more of each to give it more flavor.)
- This will last about two weeks in the refrigerator.
