Fragrant Lamb and Fruit

- 4 pounds boned and rolled shoulder of lamb shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon saffron shopping list
- 3 onions, chopped shopping list
- 1 quart buttermilk shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped shopping list
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper shopping list
- 1 tablespoon salt shopping list
- 2 whole cloves shopping list
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel shopping list
- 3 cardamom seeds shopping list
- 2 cups raw rice shopping list
- 1/2 cup shelled pistachio nuts shopping list
- 2 oranges, sectioned shopping list
- 1 grapefuit, sectioned shopping list
- 1/2 cup seedless grapes shopping list

How to make it
- Brown lamb on all sides in butter in deep kettle.
- Add water,
- Cover ,cook for 1 1/2 hours, turning occasionally.
- Add saffron,onions, buttermilk, garlic, ginger, pepper,salt, cloves,lemon peel, cardamom seeds, and rice.
- Mix nuts and fruit. and place on top of the mixture.
- Cover.
- Cook for 30-40 minutes longer.
