How to make it

  • Brown lamb on all sides in butter in deep kettle.
  • Add water,
  • Cover ,cook for 1 1/2 hours, turning occasionally.
  • Add saffron,onions, buttermilk, garlic, ginger, pepper,salt, cloves,lemon peel, cardamom seeds, and rice.
  • Mix nuts and fruit. and place on top of the mixture.
  • Cover.
  • Cook for 30-40 minutes longer.
