How to make it

  • Beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer for 2min or until creamy.
  • Gradually add sugar, beating 5 to 7min.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until yellow disappears.
  • Add vanilla, mixing well.
  • Combine flour and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating at low speed just until blended after each addition.
  • Pour batter into a greased and floured 10in tube pan.
  • Fill a 2 cup ovenproof measuring cup with water; place in oven with tube pan.
  • Bake at 300F for 90min or until a wooden pick inserted in the center of cake comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 to 15min; remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.

    This was actually cooked in a bundt pan. I think a tube pan and a bundt pan are the same thing...

    [Well, technically I used a springform pan with a bundt-type attachment. It's pretty cool.]

    could you bake this in a bundt pan sounds like a good christmas morning receipe with coffee or hot chocolate

    It would probably do just as well in a regular cake pan, though you might have to shorten the baking time.
