FIVE SPICE CHICKEN WINGS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Butler Estate in Irving, Texas in 1988.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound chicken wings
  • 2 teaspoons alt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon five spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 ounces rice flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg whites

Directions
  1. Chop chicken wings into 2 pieces at the joint.
  2. Cut or slit at one end and push and scrap meat to the opposite end with knife to form drum stick.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, honey, sugar, spice powder and soy sauce.
  4. Beat up the egg white with a fork.
  5. Dip chicken wing in egg white then coat with rice flour.
  6. Deep fry until golden brown.
