Steak Sandwich With Creamy Horseradish Recipe
STEAK SANDWICH WITH CREAMY HORSERADISH This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Walker Estate in McKinney, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup nonfat yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons horseradish
  • 4 hard rolls split
  • 4 slices beefsteak tomato
  • 4 lettuce leaves

Directions
  1. Preheat broiler then sprinkle steak with salt and pepper.
  2. Place under broiler 6 minutes on each side or until cooked to desired degree of doneness.
  3. Let stand 5 minutes then cut across on the diagonal into very thin strips.
  4. Meanwhile combine mayonnaise, yogurt and horseradish in a bowl then toss steak in dressing.
  5. Make each sandwich with 1/4 of the meat, a slice of tomato and a lettuce leaf.
  6. Spoon any extra dressing on top half of roll before closing sandwich.
