ONION SAUCE BEEF ON BUNS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Greene Estate in Mesquite, Texas in 1991.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Sauce:
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 1 white onion chopped
  • 1 cup celery finely chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  1. Heat sauce ingredients to boiling then brown ground beef and drain then mix with sauce.
  2. Serve hot on hamburger buns.
