Aunt Bonnies Date Pudding Recipe
This is a wonderful dessert in the winter. I can remember my aunt making this when I was a little kid. She always gave me an extra scoop of whipped cream.

Ingredients
  • Pudding:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • Syrup:
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup hot water
  • lump of butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • whipped cream

Directions
  1. Make Pudding:
  2. Mix flour, milk, brown sugar, dates and baking powder. Pour into a greased baking dish (I use a souffle dish). Pour the syrup mixture over the batter and bake in a 325 degree oven for about 40 minutes or until tests done.
  3. Syrup:
  4. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and when butter has melted, pour over the batter as indicated above.
