How to make it

  • 1 small bunch celery, cubed --Cover with salted water and cook covered, until clear and tender.
  • DO NOT COOK TOO LONG because it is going to bake. Drain well, before placing into 1 1/2 quart casserole.
  • Make Sauce --Over low heat melt 2 Tbsp margarine.
  • Add 3 Tbsp flour, salt and pepper, 1 cup milk, 1 cup grated cheese
  • If it gets too thick, you may add a little more milk, a few spoonsful.
  • Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick. Pour over drained celery in casserole dish.
  • Bake 350 for 30 minutes.
