MACADAMIA BRITTLE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Blake Estate in Dallas, Texas in 1988.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted macadamia nuts coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
  1. Line bottom and sides of a round cake pan with aluminum foil then butter foil generously.
  2. Cook nuts, butter, sugar and corn syrup in a heavy large skillet over low heat.
  3. Stirring constantly until butter melts and sugar dissolves.
  4. Increase heat and boil until mixture turns golden brown about 5 minutes.
  5. Pour into prepared pan spreading evenly then sprinkle with chocolate chips and let melt.
  6. Spread evenly over top then cool 15 minutes and remove candy from pan then peel off foil.
  7. Cool completely then break into pieces.
