How to make it

  • Cook rice until tender as directed on package then drain if necessary.
  • Meanwhile melt 4 tablespoons of the butter in a double boiler.
  • Add flour and seasonings then blend well.
  • Pour in milk and stir until thick and smooth then cook 5 minutes longer.
  • Add cheese and stir until melted then arrange rice and cheese in layers in casserole.
  • Sprinkle some cheese on top then mix crumbs and 2 tablespoons butter and place on top.
  • Bake at 375 for 20 minutes or until well browned.
