Warm Apple Cinnamon Cobbler Recipe
WARM APPLE CINNAMON COBBLER This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Brady Estate in Heath, Texas in 2001.

Ingredients
  • 4 apples peeled cored and sliced
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup fructose
  • 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. In large saucepan over medium heat combine apples, water, cinnamon, cornstarch and fructose.
  3. Cook until apples are soft and thickened then pour into casserole dish.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder and oil and stir until well mixed.
  5. Add honey and buttermilk then stir with a fork until flour mixture is moist.
  6. Drop dough by tablespoons on top of apples and bake 20 minutes and serve warm.
