Pears Baked In Molasses Port Sauce Recipe
PEARS BAKED IN MOLASSES PORT SAUCE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Anderson Estate in Frisco Texas in 1994.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup port wine
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 6 pears peeled and sliced

Directions
  1. Stir together first 3 ingredients.
  2. Arrange pears in rectangular pan then pour molasses over pears and bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
  3. Baste with molasses every 10 minutes.
  4. Remove pear slices from pan reserving liquid then set aside.
  5. Bring reserved liquid to boil in saucepan.
  6. Reduce heat then simmer stirring occasionally for 30 minutes.
  7. Drizzle over pear slices and serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
