How to make it

  • 1. Heat the first ingredient list until onions are brown around the edges.
  • 2, Add the tomatoes to the onion mixture and cook, stirring 3 minutes or so til the tomatoes are soupy.
  • 3. Add the third group of ingredients to the pot and add the reserve liquid just to cover the bean mixture. ( add a little water if necessary ) .
  • 4. Simmer uncovered on medium - low heat for 40 minutes or so.
  • 5. Add garam masala the last 10 minutes of simmering.
