How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Spray two 8-inch round cake pans with cooking spray.
  • Place 2 Tbsp butter in each of the pans.
  • Place the pans in the oven until the butter has melted.
  • Remove pans from oven.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, beat the flour, 1/4 teaspoons baking powder, sugar, salt, milk and eggs until smooth.
  • Arrange the apple slices into the two pans onto the melted butter.
  • Divide the batter evenly between pans.
  • Spread evenly over the apple slices.
  • Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small mixing bowl.
  • Sprinkle mixture over the batter in each pan.
  • Bake until puffed and golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
  • Serve warm with butter and pure maple syrup, if desired.

    I have done this with sliced peaches in the past and suppose any fruit would work. The apples would have a wonderful "pie" effect for me! My thanks and my five, lori ~ ~
