German Potato Salad

- 9 red bliss potatoes, unpeeled shopping list
- 6 slices bacon shopping list
- 3/4c chopped onion shopping list
- 2T flour shopping list
- 2T sugar shopping list
- 2t salt shopping list
- 1/2t celery seed shopping list
- 1/8t black pepper shopping list
- 3/4c water shopping list
- 1/3c white vinegar shopping list
- *another potato can be used but you wont get the same texture as a waxy red bliss. shopping list
How to make it
- Boil potatoes until tenber but firm, dran, cool (cold water can help this along) and slice thin. set aside.
- In a large skillet cook bacon over med-high heat until very brown; set aside leaving drippings in pan. Set aside. (while the bacon is being cooked combine flour through pepper in a smal bowl).
- Saute onions in drippings until golden brown. Stir in flour mixture and cook until bubbly stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat, add water and vinegar then return back to heat and bring to a boil stirring constantly (1 minute).
- Carefully stir potatoes and bacon back into skillet and heat through.
