How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees for glass - 350degrees - other
  • ( 8x8 square or round glass baking pans are my personal choice )
  • Place all the cake ingredients in a mixer bowl and blend well at low speed.
  • Increase speed to medium and beat for an additional two minutes.
  • Scrap the cake mixture into well greased & lightly floured pans.
  • Bake 35-40 minutes. (toothpick test)
  • Cool cake completely.
  • Mix well at a medium speed all ingredients for the frosting except the nuts.
  • Frost the cake and sprinkle with the nuts. Or you can mix the nuts into the frosting, It's up to you how you frost this cake.

  • I like to press the nuts into the sides of my frosted layered cake myself.
