Butternut Squash Battered French Toast

- 1 small butternut squash shopping list
- 3/4 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 vanilla bean shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups milk shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- A pinch of nutmeg shopping list
- 8 slices of sandwich bread ( white or egg ) shopping list
- fresh fruit and whipped cream for garnish shopping list
- vanilla bean syrup shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven 400 degrees.
- Cut the butternut squash in half lengthwise, clean the seeds and put it in a cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle it with a little salt and olive oil or vegetable oil.
- Put it in the oven for 40 minutes.
- Once cooked, scrape the meat out of the squash and set it apart.
- Sift flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla bean seeds and sugar in a large bowl.
- Add milk and squash and stir until the batter has thickened.
- In a frying pan, melt a little butter and dip the bread slices in the batter and fry them until golden brown.
- Layer the French Toast and put fresh fruits on top then add the whipped cream then another French Toast on top.
- Pour vanilla syrup on top
