Swiss Steak Supper Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs. beef boneless round steak, cut into 6 serving pieces
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. season salt
  • 6 to 8 new potatoes, cut into fourths
  • 1 1/2 cups baby-cut carrots
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with garlic, basil and oregano
  • 1 jar (12 oz.) home-style beef gravy
  • Chopped fresh parsley, if desired

Directions
  1. Mix black pepper and season salt together.
  2. Spray 12 - inch skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium-high heat.
  3. Sprinkle beef with peppered season salt. Cook beef in skillet 6 to 8 minutes, turning once, until brown.
  4. Layer beef, potatoes, carrots and onions in slow cooker.
  5. Mix tomatoes and gravy. Spoon over vegetables.
  6. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 8 hours.
  7. Garnish with parsley, if desired.
