TUNA APPLE CASSEROLE I obtained this recipe from a neighbor in 1990 who has been making this for years.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups processed American cheese
  • 2 cups tuna in water drained
  • 2 cups tart apples cored and diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 cups bread crumbs soft

Directions
  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions then drain well.
  2. In saucepan melt butter over low heat then blend in flour and salt.
  3. Add milk all at once then cook quickly stirring constantly until mixture thickens and bubbles.
  4. Add cheese and stir until melted then stir in tuna, apples and drained macaroni.
  5. Turn into rectangular baking dish then combine melted butter and crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle on top of casserole then bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
