How to make it

  • Prepare your grill for indirect heat. (I have a 3 burner so I leave the middle one off, and the other two on low-medium heat, just want a nice slow cooked bird)
  • Wash and dry the chicken completely and place in a pan to carry out to your grill.
  • Brush butter mixture on the back side of the chicken, and a little more into the cavity, place it on the grill, breast side up.
  • Brush the breast side with the butter mixture.
  • Close the lid and cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until a meat thermometer reads 170 degrees.
  • (Mine was done after 1 hour & 45 minutes. Just check it after 1.5 hours of cooking)

We had plans of using the bundt pan, but decided to put it right on the grill. Maybe next time I'll use the pan.

Are you doing it in the bundt pan on the grill? It would stand up better than those things I bought or a beer can. Nope I just reread and see not... Hummmm wonder if it would work... got a couple extra pans laying around.
