Southern California Guacamole
From desertdance 15 years agoIngredients
- 2 Ripe avocados shopping list
- 1 TBSP chopped red onion shopping list
- 1 TBSP chopped cilantro shopping list
- 1 lime (not lemon) juiced shopping list
- 2 cloves of garlic smashed shopping list
- 1 jalapeno pepper, small dice (remove seeds and white veins for less heat) shopping list
- 1/2 ripe tomato, diced shopping list
- 1/2 Tsp ground oregano shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- In a Molcajete Tejolote (Mortar and Pestle), rub with the lime prior to juicing, smash the garlic, cilantro, pepper, red onion and tomato. Smash the avocado, and season with the lime juice, oregano, salt and pepper.
- The beauty of this is the chunks of flavor within. You could blend it all in a food processor, but you would loose the flavor chunks.
- Serve with tortilla chips.
