Stir Fried Orange Beef Recipe
STIR FRIED ORANGE BEEF This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the McLean Estate in Irving, Texas in 1982.

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds beef sirloin steak trimmed of excess fat
  • Grated zest of 1 orange
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup loosely packed whole basil leaves
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 4 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • Cooked brown rice

Directions
  1. Cut beef as thinly as possible then combine with zest, juice, soy sauce, basil and pepper flakes.
  2. Toss well to combine then heat a wok over high heat until it smokes.
  3. Add oil and sauté garlic for 10 seconds then add meat mixture and cook stirring often 2 minutes.
  4. Serve immediately over rice.
