How to make it

  • Scrape the skin from the ginger and chop into small pieces
  • put the ginger into a blender with some water and give it a whiz (a long one)
  • pour juice throuh a strainer into large jug
  • squeeze the juice through the strainer with the back of a broad spoon until you finish with a kind of paste
  • replace the gringer paste back into the blender with another measure of water
  • repeat the process until the flavour of the ginger is depleted or jug is too full
  • add lime juice
  • I usually filter the collected juice throuh a paper filter at this point, but it's not absolutely necessary
  • dilute further with water until desired ginger concentration is achieved
  • sweeten with diet lime and pineapple cordial (use sugar cordial if you're not counting calories)
  • bottle'n'chill
  • nice with a bit of ice

    Wow, thanks for this recipe. I love ginger and the stronger the ginger drink the better. This is much easier than most recipes I have read. Yippe!!!!

    If you try this, you might find that you'll come close to needing 5.0L or whatever american equivalent you might like.
