Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground halibut steaks, cut into cubes
  • 18 slices bacon, cut into halves
  • black pepper, to taste
  • toothpicks

Directions
  1. In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until it just begins to brown, but is still soft. Place it aside until it becomes cooled enough to touch.
  2. Preheat your broiler and season the steaks with the black pepper. Wrap one piece of bacon around a cube of fish, secure with a toothpick, and repeat. Put the cubes on a baking sheet.
  3. Broil for around 5 minutes, turning only one, (fish should be cooked through and the bacon crisp). Place on a platter, and serve warm.
