Pecan Pie Bars

- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 3/4 cup margarine, cut up shopping list
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup light corn syrup shopping list
- 1/2 cup margarine shopping list
- 4 large eggs, slightly beaten shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups chopped pecans shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- Combine flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl; cut in 3/4 cup margarine thoroughly until mixture resembles very fine crumbs.
- Press mixture firmly into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 17 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Combine brown sugar, corn syrup and 1/2 cup margarine in saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat stirring gently. Remove.
- Stir 1/2 of hot mixture into beaten eggs. Add to remaining hot mixture.
- Stir in pecans and vanilla. Pour filling over crust.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until set.
- Cool completely. Cut into squares.
