Asian Lamb Shanks

- 4 large lamb shanks shopping list
- 1/4 cup plain flour shopping list
- 1 tbspn veg oil shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced shopping list
- 4 cm piece of stem ginger, cut into slivers shopping list
- 1/4 cup plum jam shopping list
- shredded rind and juice of a lareg orange shopping list
- 2 tbspns salt reduced soy sauce shopping list
- 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice shopping list
- steamed asian greens, to serve shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 200degC.
- Lightly coat shanks with flour.
- Heat 2 tspns oil in a lareg deep flameproof casserole dish over medium heat.
- when hot, add 2 shanks and cook for 4-5 mins or until browned on all sides. Transfer to a plate and cook remaining shanks. Transfer to a plate.
- Add garlic and ginger to casserole and cook, stirring 1 min. Add jam, orange rind and juice, soy sauce and five spice. Stir til smooth and mix comes to the boil.
- Return shanks to casserole, turning to coat with sauce. Cover and place in oven.
- Cook for 1 hour or until tender.
- Serve with greens on the side and spoon over pan juices.
