- 1/2 Cup cider Vinger shopping list
- 1/4 Cup dark beer shopping list
- 5 Tablespoons fresh marjoram,chopped fine shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil shopping list

- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 2 Pounds of sirloin steak,cut to about 1-1/2 inches thick shopping list
- 3 baking potatoes,cut lengthwise,then in 8 wedges shopping list
- 1 Each,Yellow,orange,Green,red sweet peppers,cut in 1" wide rings shopping list
- 2 Tablespoon olive oil shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- FOR THE onion SAUCE: shopping list
- 1 Cup onion,chopped shopping list
- 1 clove garlic,minced shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon butter shopping list
- 1/2 Cup dark beer shopping list
- 1/2 cup beef broth shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch shopping list
- cook onion,garlic,and butter in a pan for about 4 minutes or until the onions are tender. shopping list
- Gradually stir the dark beer,beef broth,and worcestershire sauce into the cornstarch. shopping list
- Add to the saucepan and cook,stirring until thickened and bubbly,about 2 minutes. shopping list
How to make it
- Stir in a bowl, vinegar,beer,2 Tablespoons of fresh marjoram,2 Tablespoons oil,garlic,1/2 teaspoon salt,1/2 teaspoon pepper.
- Place the steaks in a plastic bag,add the vinegar-beer mixture,seal,marinate in the refrigerator at least 6 hours,turning steak over a couple of times.
- Cook potato wedges,covered in boiling water for 4 minutes,drain.
- Combine the potatoes and sweet pepper in a bowl,sprinkle with 2 Tablespoons oil,1 Tablespoon fresh marjoram,1/4 teaspoon salt,1/4 teaspoon pepper,toss to coat.
- Drain meat,discard marinade.
- Grease grill rack.
- Place meat and potatoes,and sweet pepper on the grill.
- Grill covered, for about 14 to 18 minutes,turning meat and vegetables once.
- Carve the steak across the grain into 1/4" thick slices,placing them on a platter.
- Arrange the potatoes and sweet peppers around steak.
- Drizzle with half of the onion sauce,serving remaining sauce on the side.
- Sprinkle with the remaining fresh marjoram.
- Note:
- Every time you grill a steak,you repeat the ritual that gave the meat its name.When the Saxons and Jutes invaded England in the fifth century,they cooked their beef on pointed sticks over campfires,calling it ~Steik~which means meat on a stick.
