Bittersweet Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies Recipe
This recipe comes from a very old cookbook that I obtained at a garage sale last weekend. I made this cookies and they are so rich and gooey. Was a hit for all who tried them. Enjoy.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 3 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate melted and cooled
  • 2-1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 ounces vanilla flavored candy coating melted
  • 3/4 cup finely crushed peppermint candies

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Mix sugar, butter, vanilla, egg, cream cheese and chocolate in large bowl until smooth.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder and salt then stir into butter mixture.
  4. Divide dough in half and roll each half 1/8” thick on lightly floured cloth covered surface.
  5. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters then place 1” apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 8 minutes or until dry and set then remove from cookie sheet and cool on wire rack.
  7. Roll edge of cookies about 1/4 inch deep in candy coating then immediately roll in candies.
  8. Place on waxed paper and let stand until coating is set.
