How to make it

  • Wash potatoes and cook about 15 minutes.
  • Fine chop garlic, cut washed leeks in rings, cut meat into cubes
  • Drain potatoes .
  • Cool and peel and thick slice or cut up
  • Meanwhile make a sauce by heating butter, adding flour, thinnning with cream.
  • Add the leeks, garlic, cheese and parsley to the sauce
  • Place potatoes in a caserole dish, cover with the cheese and vegetable sauce mixture.
  • Bake 200C about 15 to 20 minutes

    **Make sure to add 2 cups of milk for the white sauce! I'm sure there was a mistake and the milk was forgotten as there is way too much flour for that small amount of cream. I added 2 cups of milk and it was perfect! 5 stars for sure!
    I used 4 Bavarian sausages for the smoked meat called for, and Swiss cheese for the topping. I found 150 grams of grated cheese covered the top of the 9x13" casserole dish perfectly without being too much.
    My family loved it and I will make again!
