How to make it

  • In a large bowl, combine sugar and salt along with the crumbled yeast and warm water.
  • Mix in flour and let stand 30 minutes in a warm place.
  • It will rise very puffy in the bowl
  • Stir the dough down and then form dough either as round loaves or one large rectangle on a baking sheet.
  • Let rise another 30 minutes.
  • Then bake 230C for 30 to 40 minutes
  • To make variations: Just before baking, stir in the desired additions.
