Banana Buttermilk Custard

- 1 large banana shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream shopping list
- 1/2 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 8 egg yolks shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 325.
- Peel the banana and cut lengthwise, then crosswise into half-slices.
- Spray cooking spray inside a 1 1/2 quart souffle dish and line bottom with banana slices.
- Heat cream and buttermilk in saucepan or in top of double boiler until hot. Add sugar, stirring until it dissolves.
- Beat yolks thoroughly with vanilla. Spoon a few tablespoons of the hot cream mixture into egg yolk mixture, whisking thoroughly.
- Slowly pour in remainder of cream mixture, stirring continually.
- Pour combined cream and egg yolk mixture over bananas. Place souffle dish inside a larger pot, filling larger pot with water halfway up the side of souffle dish.
- Place in oven and bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
