How to make it

  • Brown garlic in a pan with oil.
  • add shrimp paste and then saute for about 3 mins.
  • add chopped pork, saute.
  • add 1 1/2 cup of water, cover pan
  • when water starts boiling, set stove to minimal for 30 mins. heat to make the pork tender.
  • add chopped eggplants, let boil for 5 mins.
  • add sugar, mix well, simmer for about 5 mins.
  • Serve with rice

    I am going to give up on the North American diet, the Oriental way of eating is just so much more healthier, and it has a lot more flavor, with things like ginger, of course garlic, fish sauce, etc. Meat is use as a condiment, not as a main course, things like bok choy, napa cabbage, etc, are great additions to a meal, and think kids will probably eat more vegetables like these because they don't have a strong taste like some of the vegetables North Americans use.

    This shouldn't be a soupy dish, be careful in adding up water when boiling the pork. the grease of the pork should serve as its sauce, along with the shrimp paste.
