Chicken With Creamy Apple Sauce Recipe
CHICKEN WITH CREAMY APPLE SAUCE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Benson Estate in Canton, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 6 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 cup apple cider
  • 2 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 1 cup half and half

Directions
  1. Sprinkle each chicken breast with salt, pepper and thyme.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet then cook chicken breasts on each side until juices run clear.
  3. Remove chicken from skillet and cover to keep warm.
  4. Add apple cider to pan and cook over medium heat for several minutes.
  5. Add apples and half and half then cook on low heat until tender.
  6. Place chicken on a serving platter and pour sauce over top then serve over hot rice or pasta.
